ROCK FARM SLANE

Rock Farm Slane is a boutique eco-camp venue on the grounds of the historic Slane Castle in Co. Meath, renowned for its hugely-popular rock concerts. Campers can rent luxurious yurts or inviting shepherd’s huts and enjoy activities on the farm and throughout the Boyne Valley.

Carina Mount Charles established Rock Farm Slane in December 2012, creating the only boutique eco-camp on an organic farm

& historic estate in Ireland. Meath Partnership recognised the potential in this initiative and funded Carina through the Irish Rural Development Programme to do a business planning course. It also provided financial support for marketing, social media and website design, all of which are crucial to the success of Rock Farm Slane. Through Meath Partnership, Carina set up the Meath Ecotourism Network, which audits and certifies local ecotourism businesses.

A former environmental consultant with a strong track record - including a project for the Duchy of Cornwall at Highgrove - Carina has always been passionate about nature and organic farming. She is delighted with the progress: “It allows me to do all the small projects I always wanted to do, like forest gardening or planting a fedge.”

SO MUCH TO ENJOY

“Rock Farm Slane is a place to visit to unwind, learn and be enriched. Guests can walk the Ramparts Walk to Navan from the campsite, take a farm tour, visit Newgrange and Oldbridge, and experience the Boyne Valley and the Slane Food Circle on electric bikes.”
- Carina Mount Charles
