INISH ADVENTURES

In 2012, Inish Adventures was born out of Adrian Harkin’s love of kayaking, an activity he has been enjoying since the age of 15. It feeds his need for adventure and to stay active.

He says his business wouldn’t be successful without LEADER, since LEADER provided funding (a) to buy kayaks, canoes, surf boards, sailing dinkys and safety boats and (b) to renovate the activity centre.

The activity centre has gained two significant accolades: the Adventure Mark and the Green Hospitality Award.

The company rebranded in 2014 from Just Kayak to Inish Adventures, since it now offers more than 30 land and sea activities in Inishowen, Co. Donegal. These include Mountain Biking, Archery, Island Camping Trips, Orienteering, Hill Walks / Mountain Climbing, Kayaking, Night Paddling, White Water Kayaking, Surf Kayaking, Gorge Walking, Sailing, Storm Rides, Pier Jumping, and Banana Boating.

Adrian’s goal is to get people active and outdoors, as well as educating them on the natural environment and all of its beauty. Character building / teamwork is also a very important factor in what Inish Adventures provides.

Adrian is very proud of his achievements and has big dreams for the future: “We use the natural environment to explore the best playgrounds in Ireland. Inish Adventures’ aim is to attract more tourists, which will in turn benefit the local economy. We also want to focus on the development of youth and educate them on their natural environment. We hope to continue to be the only business in Inishowen providing such an array of outdoor adventures.”
